SUMMARY REPORT
Of
Persian Language School WA
Fiscal Year 2017 – 2018

1.  General

From 1st July 2017 until 30th June 2018, the operation of the Persian Language was smooth and overall quality of the school education program improved.
School has been equipped with further tools such as whiteboard, speaker, printer, laminate, boxes, boards, storage containers, books, pictures, play dough, small gifts and tablet to improve teachers’ performance and the learning system.
New files and record keeping of teachers/class activities and students has been organised.
The teaching methods has been reviewed and updated to run dynamic classes that include learning by games, singing a song, drawings, reading the stories of SHAHNAMEH for kids, and introduction of famous Iranian scientists and personalities to students, according to OMI’s intercultural program.
Two new telegram channels for better communication with adult learners and parents of children students has been setup. PLSWA currently maintain and use three telegram channel. One newly updated for communicating with parents of children students. One for adult class learners and one for communication with/between teachers.

2.  Curriculum and Program Planning

     Fundamental changes in school curriculum and teaching/learning methods has been planned that includes two parts:
(1)   Collaborating with Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI), for professional development of school teachers, such as short courses in teaching and learning methods or running the dynamic classes specifically for children, leadership and more by participating in a new “Pathway Improvement Program (PIP)” to upgrade level of school till ATAR.
(2)   Collaborating with few other recognised institutes for Persian Language Learning for children and adult levels including training teachers and acquiring efficient books and other teaching/learning material according the best proven methods in the world. 

3.  Professional Development

Teachers and principal of Persian Language School WA, are highly qualified professionals with years of experience in managing the Language School and teaching Persian language, and also have strengthened their knowledge and skills, and increased their competency and effectiveness through participation in a series of “Community Language Professional Development” training and workshops provided the office of Multicultural Interest, Ethnic Schools Association of Victoria, Community Languages Australia, and Australian Institute of Management WA.

4.  School Consultative Committee

In-line with the commitment of the Persian Language School WA to provide excellence in services to the community, three meetings of the “School Consultative Committee (SCC)” have been held during the past financial year.
School Consultative Committee, comprises of all academic and professional staff of the school and parents of children students.
The role of the committee is to:
Receives reports and recommendations/decisions on the executive
Provide feedback and advice to improve school activities and services
Receives any issues from general school population
